It is an honour to present to you that 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐮𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐭 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐬. – 𝙈𝙨. 𝘼𝙙𝙞𝙩𝙞 𝙏𝙖𝙩𝙠𝙖𝙧𝙚 was highly impressed as she witnessed the sustainable transformation and the impactful changes in the Pride India’s Ideal Villages programme in the areas of education, hygiene and sanitation in 𝙒𝙖𝙬𝙡𝙤𝙡𝙞 𝙑𝙞𝙡𝙡𝙖𝙜𝙚, Sudhagad Pali.
PRIDE India’s Integrated Ideal Village programme aims to bring about socio-economic transformation and positive sustainable changes among poor communities in remote villages in the areas of Education, Health & sanitation, Economic empowerment and Community development with an integrated holistic development approach. The Ideal Village programme is currently being implemented in 10 villages of Raigad District of Maharashtra state, including 3 villages in Mahad block and 7 villages in Sudhagad Pali where we are witnessing positive results.
As a part of our Health and Sanitation initiative, we have been conducting covid awareness sessions and promoting vaccinations in the villages taken under the ideal village model.
So far in Raigad district, 21,108 people have been vaccinated across villages in the Mahad and Pali Block, with our efforts of liaising with the government.
Recently, we have conducted awareness and mobilized villagers for vaccination in snd around Parwadi village mainly inhabited by katkari tribes in partnership with 𝙎𝙋𝙔𝙉.

The COVID 19 crisis has put the tribal children at a heightened risk of educational gaps, malnutrition and other health problems.
𝙋𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙙𝙞𝙖’𝙨 𝙈𝙪𝙠𝙩𝙨𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙖 is 𝙖 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙖𝙡 𝙝𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙛𝙤𝙧 70 𝙩𝙧𝙞𝙗𝙖𝙡 𝙢𝙞𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙣 that aims to provide holistic development of the children.
During this pandemic, we have ensured continuity in the overall development and progress of these tribal children through
• Academic continuity by home visits and doubt clearing sessions
• Conducting medical camps and covid awareness sessions.
• Distribution of food and hygiene packets preventing malnutrition
• Livelihood support to their families helping to sustain themselves during this pandemic
This support in this crisis has provided holistic development and support to these children to mitigating the severity of the COVID 19 impact.
Children’s club provides children with an opportunity to voice their thoughts so that their concerns and rights are addressed. These young ministers of change undertake responsibilities in the areas of health, education, sports, culture and nutrition.
Awareness sessions and activities like rallies, drawing, essays, cultural celebrations are held where these children learn to express themselves and take up leadership activities that boost their participation, confidence, awareness.
So far, PRIDE India has impacted and empowered 5153 children through the children’s club making them the young advocates for change.
With the support of Avanse Financial Services Limited, we are working on the Model School concept with six Zilla Parishad schools in Mahad benefitting 332 children. The Activity Based Learning materials were provided to these six schools to ensure creative learning of the children through worksheets and activities, helping them understand the concepts, and thus making education more interesting for them.

Amid this pandemic, due to the closure of schools, children from marginalized communities are unable to attend online classes as they are not able to afford smartphones. With support from AkzoNobel, we have promoted online learning by providing #Tabs with BYJU’S app and the installation of study curriculum to the 9th and 10th std children from the Navi Mumbai Municipal schools to increase academic engagement to enable self-learning and staying digitally connected to their online classes. This will assist them to transform their academic challenges into possibilities.
2021 has been a year where we have scaled up our livelihood development initiatives in new locations at Lanja and Sangmeshwar blocks of Ratnagiri district to improve the quality of life of the farmers.
Through this support, 2110 farmers have been supported for the cultivation of turmeric, finger millet (ragi) and red rice and raising kitchen gardens in their land for additional income that will help reduce the distress in farmers and helping them move towards income security and a healthy living!
